  Procedures:

1. Complete Application for Admission form (click here to download the form - 223k byte) and U.S. $50 non-refundable fee by draft/check payable to Portland State University. Your application will not be processed without payment

2. Official transcripts from every institute, college, university or post-secondary school attended are needed. Transcripts from other countries must be in both the original language and in a certified English translation.  Official copies of any diplomas, degrees and certificates are required.

Please contact all academic institutions beyond the High School level where you have taken courses and request that the official transcripts be sent directly to each of the addresses.  If you have copies of your transcripts, you may fax them to the Engineering Management Program at 1-503-725-4667, and request the official transcripts be sent only to the Office of Addmissions.

3. For International Applicants:
Official TOEFL score report obtained within 2 (two) years should be sent directly by Educational Testing Service (ETS) to both addresses.  If you have a copy of your TOEFL score, you may fax it to the Engineering Management Program at 1-503-725-4667, and request the ETS to sent the official report only to the Office of Addmissions.
  • Required minimum TOEFL scores: 550 for M.S., 575 for Ph.D.
  • ESL (English as Secondary Language) is available for students without minimum scores.

4. Evidence of adequate financial resources for your studies at PSU.   This must include an affidavit of support (if being sponsored by someone other than yourself) and an official statement from your bank indicationing sufficient funds are available.

5. Students transferring from a school within the U.S. must submit a completed Transfer Clearance Form to verify current U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service status.

7. Three letters of reference (You can send the electronic recommendation request after submitting the on-line departmental application form)

8. GRE current (within two years) score (required for Ph.D. applicants, optional for M.S. applicants). Minimum sum of (verbal and quantitative) or (verbal and analytical) of 1100 is required for Ph.D. applicants.
