Prof. Susan de LaVergne has joined ETM this year as the instructor for a new course titled "Technology Management Writing and Presentations." She has many years of experience in conducting communication/presentation courses in the high tech industry.

Dr. Robert Dryden, former Dean of PSU's Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science (MCECS) for the past 13 years, has joined the ETM Department as a University Professor. Before coming to PSU, he was the Chair of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to ETM.

Assistant Prof. Antonie Jetter was married to Dr. Michael Wallisch on May 24, 2008, in a cermony in Hood River, Oregon. Michael is a Postdoctoral Associate in Physiology and Pharmacology at OHSU.

Additionally, Prof. Jetter, who has been an ETM faculty member for the last three years, has been promoted this year from a fixed-term faculty to a tenure track faculty position.

Prof. Dundar Kocaoglu, founder and director of ETM at PSU, was acknowledged for his 20 years at PSU during the Length of Service 2007 Awards held on April 29, 2008.

Prof. Paul Newman, who was a part-time adjunct faculty in ETM for two years, is now a full-time adjunct professor. Prof. Newman has over 22 years of senior management experience in high technology companies such as Rockwell International Corporation, JBL Professional, and Electro Scientific Industries and has 43 technical publications and four US patents.

A paper authored by Professors Peerasit Patanakul (ETM Ph.D. graduate now teaching at Stevens Institute of Technology), Dragan Z. Milosevic and Tim Anderson (both of ETM) was awarded the prestigious IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management Best Paper Award for 2007. The paper, “A Decision Support Model for Project Manager Assignments,” (IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Vol. 54, No. 3, August 2007, p. 548-564) was selected by the journal's editor-in-chief and department editors from the 54 papers published in the journal in 2007.

Prof. Charles Weber has been awarded a grant of $208,957 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a study on "Enabling Timely Revolutions in Organizational Performance."

Additionally, Prof. Weber and his wife, Dr. Christiane Biermann, are proud parents of their second child, Elsa Johanna Weber, who was born on June 20, 2008.
