Doctoral student Pisek Gerdsri is the recipient of the 2008-09 Maseeh Fellowship, which is awarded to outstanding graduate students enrolled in master's or Ph.D. programs in the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science (MCECS).

Doctoral student Peter Ghavami is living in Seattle, Washington, and is the director of Informatics at University of Washington Medicine - Harborview Medical Center.

Master's student and ETM office assistant Kenny Phan received the graduate level 2008 Commendation Award from the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science (MCECS) for his outstanding academic work and community involvement. His achievements and those of students from other PSU schools and colleges were celebrated at the “Recognition of Student Achievement and Scholarship” reception on June 12, 2008, in Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom.
Additionally, Kenny was a finalist in the singing contest New Talent Singing Awards. He was one of six contestants picked from hundreds who competed in the regional contest in New York City. Kenny performed at the final on June 28 in Mohegan Sun Casino, Connecticut, where 12 finalists competed. He was in the top five.
Kenny has performed at many ETM and PICMET events, and all who have seen him can attest that he is a magnificent singer and performer.
