DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis)
|
Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is becoming an increasingly popular management tool. DEA is commonly used to evaluate the efficiency of a number of producers. A typical statistical approach is characterized as a central tendency approach and it evaluates producers relative to an average producer. In contrast, DEA is an extreme point method and compares each producer with only the "best" producers. ETM has been active in the field of DEA and has developed two resources used by researchers around the world. The first is the DEA DataSet Repository which provides a single storage location for datasets from a variety of DEA applications that can be readily searched in a variety of different ways. The second resource is the first DEA web page ever written. The DEA Home Page was developed by Dr. Anderson while he was a graduate student at Georgia Tech in 1994 and was moved to PSU in 1995. It provides a straightforward introduction to DEA and links to software packages.
